John Lennon was born October 9, 1940. The founder of The Beatles would’ve been 75 years old today. He and his bandmates, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, shook the world with Beatlemania.
Individually the four continued to influence the culture but together they were a powerhouse.

Known as the “King of the Cowboys”, he appeared in over 100 films and numerous radio and television episodes of The Roy Rogers Show.”
Roy Rogers was an American actor and singer born on November 5, 1911 in Cincinnati, Ohio. On July 6, 1998, the man known for his good guy hero image, died from congestive heart failure.

Merle Haggard celebrates all put-upon mothers with this song. Perhaps he is singing from life experience as Haggard spent some time in prison himself, San Quentin State Prison in California to be exact.
