Whitney Houston – Star Spangled Banner

Enjoy Whitney Houston’s performance of the America’s National Anthem “The Star Spangled Banner”  before Super Bowl XXV in 1991 in Tampa.  Her rendition came at a particularly patriotic time, just after the onset of the Persian Gulf War, and was released as a single. It was re-released after the September 11th terrorist attacks. Houston donated all proceeds to charity.

It all began on January 8, 1935, in Tupelo, Mississippi when Vernon and Gladys Presley welcomed Elvis Aron (later changed to Aaron)Presley.

As mothers do, they see talent in their children.  Gladys bought her 12-year-old son Elvis his first guitar.

By the mid-1950s, he appeared on the radio, television and the silver screen.
